About The Brown Door
During covid I started attaching life observations onto my retail stores weekly emails. Since people weren’t out shopping, I thought this was a way to stay in touch with everyone from their homes. My motive at the time was to draw my customers attention to local stores around San Antonio so they wouldn’t forget about them & therefore wouldn’t close.
That turned into more observations about people, places, life etc. My weekly emails morphed into a paragraph about something that I had observed or learned or experienced or was just on my mind.
Anyone that knows me knows I loveeeee to analyze. I think I got it from my dad. Actually I know I did. He would always throw out little sayings and reminders while growing up:
Never let the lack of knowledge impede your progress.
Have you ever seen a King or Queen in a hurry?
If you’re not living on the edge you’re taking up to much room.
If you want to know you gotta go.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?
So on and so forth – this was my dad. He pushed us to question things & loved to give us little nuggets to chew on.
So I just sold my store – The Tiny Finch – that I had for 10 years. (Btw check them out – the new owner has phenomenal taste – www.thetinyfinch.com). I knew I wanted to start some sort of writing outlet – so here it is.
The Brown Door – because I loved this image & was inspired by it from the get go. Maybe my little weekly blurbs will inspire you.
Thanks for being interested ❤️
